As planned, Noah was the first to meet Sailer...it was very important to Jason and I that we had a few first moments as a family of 4 to bond and show him his beautiful baby sister....it was very emotional and sweet!

Happy Birthday Sailer!

My first look into Sailer's eyes..after her first bath! She was very alert after the delivery....so precious!

As you all know, I was scheduled to be induced on Tuesday, March 25th....well, that didn't go according to our plan. Apparently, we were 4th or 5th in line for induction, and of course, mothers that were in "active labor" took priority over us, so we ended up spending Tuesday evening and night at home. We were on call all night, but didn't receive a call to come in until 10:30 Wednesday morning....there was SO MUCH anticipation...it was killin' me!

So, we got to the hospital by 11:15, got admitted, and I started pitocin at 1:00. At admission, I was right at 3 cm. dilated and 80% effaced. Once on the pitocin, things went very quickly and contractions were strong and VERY close together. After enduring contractions that were 1 1/2 minutes apart for 2 hours (I don't know what I was trying to prove!), I got my epidural at 3:00. After that, things were great! I continued to progress quickly....I was at 4 cm. by 4:30, and I started to feel like I needed to push...even with the epidural, so when Jason mentioned that to the nurse, she came in to check me....I was 9 cm.!!! WHOA! Right away, the nurse called my doctor, who was finishing rounds across the street, and he came running over...literally! He didn't even put his booties on...he only had one glove on, and he wasn't at all prepared for me to start pushing! It was funny...b/c it happened to same exact way with my first delivery. I tend to progress FAST after around 3-4 cm., so here we go again!

To make a long story short, I started pushing around 10 after 5, and Sailer made her debut at 5:49! Not long at all! It was a blissful labor...I loved it...I know that may sound crazy, but I enjoy every moment of the labor process. To me, you are working for the most extraordinary reward that can be given!

I couldn't wait to get my hands on Sailer....this time, I actually got to wipe her off right after she came out of the wound...it was such a special bonding for us. I had waited so long for this.....
